Chigozie Obioma gets international award for An Orchestra of Minorities

Chigozie Obioma, the author of The Fishermen and An Orchestra of Minorities, has been honoured by the International Literature Award. The author was honoured

along with five other authors in the 2020 edition of the International Literature Award.

The award is given to a book that has been translated from another language to German. The award is given to the duo of the author and the translator. Chigozie Obioma’s title in the German is Das Weinen der Vögel

This year, 2020, due to Covid-19, the organisers decided to give the award to all the authors and translators who made the shortlist. The other authors honoured are Yevgenia Belorusets, Angel Igov, Amir Hassan Cheheltan, James Noël and Isabel Waidner.

An Orchestra of Minorities is published in Nigeria by Parresia Publishers Ltd.
