Obinna Udenwe
Obinna Udenwe is the author of the novels ‘Satans & Shaitans’ and ‘Colours of Hatred’ and, most recently, the chapbook, ‘The Brief Story of the New Love Software’. His short stories ‘Men Are Fools’ manuscript was a finalist in the 2020 Prairie Schooner-Raz Schumakar Prize. In the same year, he won the Prairie Schooner-Glenna Luschei Prize. In 2016, he won The Short Story is Dead Prize. Obinna Udenwe’s story, ‘It Has to do with Emilia,’ was optioned for film and television by Bridget Pickering at Bump Films in 2020, with production set to begin in South Africa in September 2021. His works have appeared in Munyori Literary Journal, Afreada, The Temz Review, Prairie Schooner, a publication of the University of Nebraska Lincoln, Kalahari Review, Expound Magazine, Brittle Paper, and The Shallow Tales Review, among others. In 2015, Obinna partnered with Nora Vasconcelos to produce twenty stories in the ‘Crossover Mexico-Nigeria’ project that they both initiated. He is a co-editor of the Ebedi Review since 2014 and co-edited the anthology ‘Voices From My Clan’. He is the co-founder of The Village Square Journal - a magazine of contemporary literature and politics.
